Attending a Workshop at the Gibson House is an experience you will long remember. Whether you’re an aspiring artist or an experienced art instructor, the Gibson House is the perfect place to be inspired. There is more than 5,000 square feet of public space.  Every parlor and sitting room is a world in itself and provides village, garden or mountain views. Two fifty foot long porches overlook the Connecticut River Valley and Green Mountains of Vermont, insuring outdoor work and relaxation space in any weather. Our formal gardens and the picture-perfect Village of Haverhill Corner offer tranquility and visual stimulation.

The Gibson House is thrilled to host an accomplished group of artists/instructors with a lifetime of achievement. Many of these artists have:

  • Exhibited in museums and galleries nationally and internationally.
  • Won numerous awards for their paintings, many of which are in private collections;
  • Written instructional books which are available for sale at their workshops; and,
  • Trained aspiring artists in workshops around the country.

What Workshop Participants Say . . .

“Just to let you know what a terrific time we had…both painting and enjoying your wonderful Bed and Breakfast…and our wonderful host & hostess ;-).  It was my first “B&B” experience and definitely a treasured one!!”

Holly

“Your house nurtures creativity.”

D.W. of Underhill, VT

“Thanks for another memorable stay at the Gibson House. Your hospitality was warmer than the weather. And the food was nothing less than amazing. In fact, here I sit, back in CT, waiting for someone to serve me a ‘Perfect Blueberry Pancake!‘ Or a ‘Warm Peach Muffin.’ But my ‘real world’ breakfast has been reduced to cold cereal :(.  And so I look forward to my next trip to the Gibson House :). Thanks again for all you did to facilitate the absolute best workshop I’ve ever taken. Katharine Cartwright, is even more amazing than your stuffed French Toast. And that’s saying something!! “

Sincerely, Carol (C.W.)”

“Thanks for your wonderful hospitality! I think we all feel that your place is ideal for art workshops — or any kind for that matter. You are both efficient and seem to enjoy making an effort to make the guests happy — and you did! Perhaps my husband and I will stop by as part of a New England getaway vacation in the future; I can already taste the French toast!“

Best Wishes
Karen

“Had a fantastic time at the watercolor workshop with Robert O’Brien! Great teacher, wonderful group of people, and beautiful setting. Thanks, Marty and Susie for fussing over us and keeping us well fed with your amazing breakfasts, lunches, and snacks. I loved the room, and the whole experience was just great. Thank you!!”

L.J.

“This was my second stay at the Gibson House, both times for the Rob O’Brien plein aire watercolor workshop. The aesthetic presentations of food and furnishings were the perfect complement to the artistic endeavors. Marty and Susan’s gracious hosting is superlative, and Morgan and Leslie help round out the wonderful, wonderful experience. Thank you!”

S. N., New Hampshire

“Gibson House is lovely and so unique thanks to your warm hospitality. I loved the lily pond, spectacular views and ample food. Susie, your stained glass skills are a gift. Thank you both, and I hope to return to take another class from Rob to paint here.“

J. M., Arlington, MA
